Kara Hooker

I’m Kara, the Practice Manager at Onoway Veterinary Clinic! I became a Registered Veterinary Technologist after graduating from GPRC – Fairview Campus College with a diploma in Animal Health Technology. Growing up on an acreage full of animals—from reptiles and birds to horses, cats, and dogs—sparked my lifelong passion for keeping them happy, safe, and loved.

I have a special interest in working with exotic animals and love the challenges they bring. Stepping into the Practice Manager role in 2024 has been an exciting opportunity to support our team and connect with clients and their pets in new ways. Recently, I’ve also been enjoying brushing up on my large animal skills.

Outside of work, I’m an artist who loves painting, hosting paint nights, and crafting with my kids. At home, I have four cats, a German Shepherd, and a cockatiel!
