Ava Houston

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a deep love for animals, which is why I’m so excited and eager to be begining my career in animal care. I’m particularly passionate about working with large animals—I find them fascinating and really enjoy being in a farm environment. 

What I love most about my job is the variety of tasks I get to tackle each day. From preparing for surgery to comforting nervous pets with snuggles, every moment feels rewarding. I’m so grateful to work with such an amazing team; we have an excellent work environment, and everyone gets along so well.

Outside of work, I love snowboarding, volleyball, hiking, and spending time outdoors with my pets. I have a Bernese Mountain Dog named Lydia, two cats named Yeti and Mittens, and an Australian Labradoodle named Hazel.

Currently, I’m a high school student and plan to pursue training as a Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) after graduation. I’m excited to follow my passion and continue learning how to provide the best care for animals.
